This summer Shawn was included in a show called NEXT at Galleri Urbane Marfta + Dallas (G.U.M+D) in Dallas, TX, and is happy that G.U.M+D has decided to represent her.

Shawn also had work this summer in the Southern Open 2011 at the Acadiana Art Center in Lafayette, LA, curated by Amy Mackie. Here are two thoughtful reviews: Hyperallergic and The Visionary Post

After a year and half of working on the installation/performance How To Build A Forest with her a collaborators Lisa D'amour and Katie Pearl she is finally on the other side. The FOREST exists! It's premiere at the Kitchen in NYC in June of 2011 was a success. They'll be bringing the installation to New Orleans in the spring of 2012. Details and other dates to be announced soon.

Check out a couple of great installation photos of HOW TO BUILD A FOREST on the Two Man Saw blog.

September of 2010 her solo show 'Conceptacles' opened at the Red Arrow Gallery in Joshua Tree, CA.

Shawn had a solo show at Wagner Sousa in Galveston, TX at the end of November 2010

Shawn was in residence at the Santa Fe Art Institute September and October of 2009.

She curated 'California Dreaming' at Antenna Gallery in September of 2009. The show included video from artists Mads Lynnerup, Chris Sollars, Katherine Williamson, Brian Storts, and Patrick Rock.

FLEETING curated by Sally Sprout at the WIlliams Tower Gallery in Houston, TX, 2009, included work from Shawn's May 2009 solo exhibition at Wagner Sousa.

Shawn is proud to be among the recent acquisitions at the Ogden Museum of Southern Art in New Orleans. The Ogden recently acquired the 28-panel painting BIO logy that was done while Shawn was in residency in NYC through the Lower Manhattan Cultural Council in 2006. It was on view for much of 2009.

The past year of 2008 included new work at the VanBrunt Gallery in Beacon, NY, in a show titled Women of New Orleans, and in New Orleans, work at Universal Furniture as a part of the St. Claude Collective during Prospect.1 and a solo show, L.A.B., at Antenna.

Her photograph, 'Pass-Through Gate'  c.2005/06 from the Travelogue series, graces the cover of Edward Sanders new book 'Poems for New Orleans', (North Atlantic Books, August 19, 2008).
